I now know that good planning is really the key to a high quality IP project. I realized while I was developing my project that my tenacity to get things done was playing a huge role in the whole process. I had to stay ahead of the planned steps in order to organize what was coming next, such as contacting my mentor and creating questions to ask during my interviews with the psychologist who was my resource person.
